Editorial video content agency Ballywire Media was established in Dublin’s digital quarter in 2007, with the aim of helping clients create and deliver realtime video content to multiple platforms.
With digital journalism at the core of the company’s ethos, since it’s establishment Ballywire has worked at various stages with Ireland’s leading media groups providing journalistically led video content.

Tipp native and company founder Paul Collins is an award winning journalist and graduate of the University of Limerick. After a spell working at Tipperary Mid West Radio and 7 years at WLRFM and The Munster Express in Waterford, Paul was recruited to help establish the newsroom at the then Radio Ireland prior to launch in 1997. Observing a growth in internet content consumption he established Ballywire in 2007 with the aim of empowering clients to become broadcasters.
Paul has produced a range of multi media content and in 2015 was awarded a ‘Story of the Year’ trophy by the Irish radio industry. He is known to binge on Netflix and classic hurling matches.
Dublin born Patricia Lane has unique media insights from reporting and reading news on local and national radio both in Ireland and the UK, namely – Midlands Radio 3, RTE 2FM, EAST COAST FM, INN and Spirit Radio in Ireland and JACK FM and Oxford’s FM 107.9 in the UK. Patricia has worked in newspapers as a sub editor for RE&D, which subbed a suite of national publications including the Irish Independent, The Sunday Independent, and The Herald. Since joining Ballywire, Patricia has managed projects including the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition, the General Election in February 2011, The Presidential Election 2011. Patricia was also the voice of Ireland in a Minute – which was a daily news video produced by Ballywire for Independent.ie.
The video was put together each morning following a meeting discussing the current news and sports events. Ireland in a Minute was published on Independent.ie at 8am on a daily basis for the duration of 2013. Patricia has also worked in a support role for the various television projects that Ballywire has undertaken. Trish also loves rugby and coffee. Especially coffee.
Gabriel is a highly skilled broadcast operative with experience in the production of news, sports and entertainment content across television, radio and web. The Dublin native previously co-produced a PPI National Radio Awards nominated programme as well as a number of nationally broadcast television programmes. Gabriel is currently the producer of ‘Round the Square, the GAA’s official on-line video packages which are published daily during the GAA All-Ireland Championship season. ‘Round the Square content is central to the GAA’s on-line promotion of the Championship with millions of views on the Official GAA Youtube channel annually.
In addition to his general production, directorial and reporting skills, Gabriel has extensive editing experience of both video and audio and is highly proficient in Final Cut Pro and Adobe Audition, in addition to experience in Adobe Premiere and Avid. Gabriel also works as a part time tutor on video editing in Ireland’s Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dun Laoghaire as part of the MA in Broadcast Production. Previously Gabriel has also worked for TV3, Tyrone Productions, 98FM and Newstalk. For his sins he is a Liverpool fan.
